I am a paneled provider "In network" provider for the following insurance carriers:
Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO
BCBS Federial Employee Program
Carefirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO
out of network
For those insurance companies that I do not participate with, I will do everything I can to assist you in getting reimbursed. At the end of each session I provide my clients with a receipt that includes all of the coding and specifics that are required by insurance companies. Many of my clients just send that to their insurance company directly. Others compile the information on a specific claim reimbursement sheet their company uses.
Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
Benefits of Direct Pay
Many clients have found that the direct pay option is best suited for their needs. There are several advantages to paying directly, on an "as you go" basis.
Insurance companies require that the client has a diagnosed mental health disorder and that treatment is deemed medically necessary, they can also dictate the number of allowed sessions.
Confidentiality and Flexibility
First, confidentiality is assured - only you and your therapist have access to your records, not your insurance company. Your confidentiality can be limited when you elect to use insurance for payment of services.
Second, there are no restrictions on how you find the right psychologist or what services you decide to use. This flexibility is something you will not find if you elect to use insurance to pay for services.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance you will be charged a fee.
